Mr. Gandy is excited to continue his career at Acton Middle School as Assistant Band Director! Mr. Gandy primarily teaches the Symphonic Band and assists with the Honors and Concert Bands. He also teaches the beginner Tuba, Trumpet, Trombone, and Horn classes.
Jacob Gandy is entering his fifth year of band directing and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington. He comes from McLean Middle School in Fort Worth ISD, where he led the McLean Non-Varsity Band and consistently earned UIL Sweepstakes. During his time at McLean, he was part of a program that was a semifinalist in the 2025 TMEA CCC Honor Band process and earned an invitation to perform at the 2025 Music for All National Festival. Outside of teaching Jacob plays French horn with the Mansfield Wind Symphony, has visited 25 national parks with his wife Emily, enjoys caring for his house plants, and likes to play disc golf on the weekends. |
